7 Pools Run 2018: A Day to Remember

by 7 Pools Run Committee

The 7 Pools Run on Sunday 21st October 2018 was truly an affair to remember. Here’s a brief look back at that spectacular day.

Champion Runners Shine Bright

In a competitive field of 292 runners, three emerged at the top:

  1. Ollie Sheppard with the number 1802 clocked a fantastic time of 39:11.2.
  2. Close on his heels was Stuart Lumsden (No. 537), finishing just a couple of seconds later at 39:13.3.
  3. Completing the top trio, Daniel Floyd (No. 1806) crossed the finish line at a commendable 40:09.7.

A Day Bathed in Sunshine

The British weather can be unpredictable, but that day, Mother Nature graced us with what felt like a touch of summer in spring. The sun’s rays illuminated the path, casting a golden glow on our dedicated runners, and painting a picturesque scene worthy of a postcard.

Moments of Triumph and Refreshment

After navigating the course, every droplet of sweat signified the effort, determination, and passion each runner brought to the table. But nothing beats the satisfaction of crossing that finish line, and the immediate gratification of that first sip of cool, refreshing squash waiting at the finish line.

More than Just a Run

While the event was a celebration of athleticism and community spirit, it was also a significant fundraiser. We’re delighted to announce that a considerable amount was raised for the Norman Laud Association, making a difference in many lives.

To all who participated, cheered, and contributed: Thank you for making the 2018 7 Pools Run a resounding success. Until next year, keep those running shoes at the ready!
