The day of the 7 Pools Run 2024 began with a sky full of clouds and rain that hinted at a challenging day ahead. However, as if nature itself wanted to partake in the run itself, the sun emerged, spreading warmth and a promise of a good day as participants started to arrive. The sudden change in weather only added to the enthusiasm, creating a perfect setting for the day’s events.
The Event’s Highlights: Sun, Sweat, and S(miles)
The event was marked by remarkable moments that will be etched in the memories of everyone involved. Notably, the Mayor of Sutton Coldfield’s presence at the finish line, applauding and greeting the runners, added a dignified touch to the accomplishment of each participant. This year, we introduced brightly coloured bags, a small token of appreciation and a colourful reminder of their achievement, handed to the runners shortly after they crossed the finish line, adding a vibrant hue to their achievement.
2024’s Swiftest Feet
This year’s run saw fierce competition and remarkable athleticism, with Liam Harrold leading the pack, marking him as the fastest man, and Georgia Delaney shining as the fastest woman of the event. Here are the top 5 runners who stood out with their exceptional performance:
- Liam Harrold – 00:37:14
- Tom Kelly – 00:40:53
- Joseph Quinn – 00:41:04
- James Kay – 00:41:35
- Nathan Dolphin – 00:41:40
Their dedication and speed have set new benchmarks for the years to come.
A Cause Close to Our Hearts
The essence of the 7 Pools Run transcends physical boundaries, as it unites us all in support of the Kids charity. This year, we are proud to announce that the event successfully raised £4,100, a significant contribution that will help in making a difference in the lives of many local children. This achievement reflects the collective heart of our participants, volunteers, and supporters.
