The Impact of 7 Pools Run 2023: A Cause Beyond the Finish Line

by 7 Pools Run Committee

A Recap of the Day

The 7 Pools Run 2023 was a marvellous day in every aspect. Not only did we experience the vibrancy and spirit of our community, but also the dedication of each participant racing for a noble cause. As shared in our post-event update, the day was filled with emotions ranging from the thrill of competition to the overwhelming joy of giving back.

Breaking Down the Donations

Your efforts and dedication during the 7 Pools Run resulted in an astounding total of £2600 in donations! Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • ATC (Air Training Corps): £100 – Their assistance in marshalling ensured the smooth progression of the event.
  • Scouts: £200 – Gratitude to them for helping set up tents and providing essential equipment.
  • Kids: £2300 – The lion’s share went to our prime cause, the children’s charity.

Where Did the Money Go?

The majority of our donations, as aforementioned, went to Kids, specifically their Family Centre Nursery in Wylde Green. The impact of this donation on the children is heartwarming, to say the least.

The funds were used to purchase the Community Playthings Indoor Nursery Gym set. This wonderful piece of equipment is not just any playset. It’s an avenue for the children to explore their spatial awareness, understand their emotions and improve their physical capabilities. Whether it’s the joyous laughter accompanying a slide down or the triumph of climbing the steps, this indoor gym has been a beacon of developmental progress for many children.

One particularly touching story is that of a young individual. The playset became a catalyst for achieving a monumental milestone they once thought impossible. With tears of joy and pride, their parents acknowledged the immense support the nursery provided and the opportunities the equipment presented.

The Kids Team

We must mention Kay Lee, the Senior Administrator, and Samantha Paul, the Nursery Manager at Kids. Their tireless efforts and dedication to the children and their development cannot be overstated. Their guidance ensures that the funds are utilised in the most impactful manner, ensuring every penny counts.

In Closing: A Big Thank You

The gratitude expressed by Kids is overwhelming and deeply touching. The difference made to the children’s lives through our collective efforts is the best reward.

So, to all our runners, supporters, and everyone who made the 7 Pools Run 2023 a success – a resounding thank you! Your sweat, determination and kind hearts have truly made a difference. We eagerly look forward to coming together once again next year, and hopefully, touching even more lives in our community.
